A van driver and her employer were negligent in the death of a molecular researcher killed in a bicycling accident earlier this year, a lawsuit filed Thursday claims. According to the lawsuit, the 2006 Ford Econoline van driven by an Ambient Control Co., Inc. employee caused the accident when it attempted to perform a U-turn while crossing a bike lane. The lawsuit seeks damages on behalf of the decedent’s children, an attorney said. Kevin Pulkkinen, Seattle Post-Intelligencer

This is another example of how drivers need to be on the lookout and share the road with bicycles.
